Kirillov warned that after the use of these weapons, “large areas of cultivation on the territory of Ukraine they will be infected and by road transport, radioactive substances can spread to the rest of the territory.”
He emphasized that the damage to the health of civilians and soldiers would be “irreparable”, and emphasized that the greatest danger to man is that his internal organs are affected a cloud that spreads said radioactive particles “in the form of dust”.
“In addition to infecting your own population, this will cause a huge economic damage the Ukrainian agricultural sector (…) the cessation of any export of agricultural products from the territory of Ukraine for decades, if not centuries,” he stressed.
He recalled that NATO used said munitions in Yugoslavia (15 tons of depleted uranium) and Iraq (300 tons), which caused an increase oncological diseases in those territories.
“It must be emphasized that in military conflicts, depleted uranium ammunition was used exclusively by NATO,” he stressed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned this week that Moscow would be forced to react if Ukraine used weapons with a “nuclear component”.

In this regard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured that there is no convention against the use of these weapons, because the West prevented this.
On Monday, on the website of the British Parliament, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom, Anabelle Goldie, answered a question from a member of the House of Lords, Lord Hilton, about the possibility of sending these shells to Ukraine.
“In addition to sending a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine, we will supply depleted uranium shells,” Goldie said, noting that they are more effective at destroying armor.
For its part, the British Ministry of Defense on the eve accused Russia of “misinformfor the fact that depleted uranium ammunition has a “nuclear component”.
A spokesman for that ministry pointed out that “the British Army has been using depleted uranium in its armor-piercing rounds for decades” and “it’s a standard component and has nothing to do with nuclear weapons or capabilities.”
