It turned out that the Acropalypse vulnerability, which was reported a few days ago to affect Google Pixel’s Markup Tool, is also found in Microsoft’s Windows 10 and Windows 11 Snipping Tool.
These tools allow the cut elements to keep the data of the deleted parts, instead of completely deleting them after overwriting the original file. This poses serious problems, especially when tools affected by Acropalypse are used to crop sensitive images.
Microsoft fixes this problem with a new update

Microsoft, CVE-2023-28303 (Windows snipping tool information reveals vulnerability) named from Acropalypsestated that it is a weak vulnerability due to certain conditions that must be met.
You can fix the problem yourself by checking for security updates in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
