Microsoft makes vertical tabs in Edge easier to use

Vertical tabs in Microsoft Edge, a feature that lets you move the tab bar from top to left, have several advantages over the standard layout. However, it also makes some activities less convenient. For example, closing a tab with the “x” button is a bit more difficult and requires more mouse movement. Microsoft is aware of the inconvenience and is working to fix it by moving the close tab button to a new homepage.

Some Edge Canary users have noticed that the “x” button is now tabbed next to its icon. Additionally, the close button remains visible even when the vertical tab bar is collapsed. It’s a minor change, but it makes closing tabs much faster and more obvious, which fans of the vertical tab feature will no doubt welcome.

Microsoft will soon allow you to close web pages and perform other actions in the browser using a long-awaited new method. The company is working on adding mouse gestures to Edge that will allow you to close a tab, open a new page, reload, add to favorites, and perform other commands by holding down the right mouse button and moving the mouse in a certain direction.
