MediaTek heart with Dimensity 9200 aiming very high

Vivo X90 Pro draws attention from both the front and the back with its huge curved screen. You can see that Vivo has made an effort to create a recognizable mobile phone. not only because of a huge, round camera sensor placed on one of the edges (they tend to be more in the centre), but also because of this ‘tape’ with the slogan “Xtreme Imagination”. We also see the ZEISS logo on the back of the device, the main lens features and the built-in flash.

The camera module is the highlight, but we’ll touch on the cameras later. If we turn the device upside down, a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, curved edges. It’s huge and has a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 pixels for a density of 453 pixels per inch. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, and the brightness reaches 1,300 nits.

If we dig into it, we find the SoC MediaTek Dimensity 9200. system on chip with a distributed octa-core processor Similar to what Qualcomm did with the most powerful Snapdragon: One core at 3.05 GHz, three at 2.85 GHz and four with high efficiency at 1.8 GHz. The GPU is Immortalis-G715 MC11, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

OS Android 13 with Funtouch OS 13 customization layer and we find it in the battery section 4,870 mAh with 120 W charging (charger included) and 50W wireless charging.

Three rear cameras with a ‘portrait’ approach

If we focus on the cameras, we see a very interesting trio. Vivo joins the usage trend a huge sensor for the main camera, one inchallows you to take better photos in low light conditions and also create a more pronounced natural blur. These are the details of their cameras:

  • Mother: 50.3 megapixel one inch sensor with 1.6 micron pixels. It has laser focus, f/1.8 lenses and an OIS system. Equivalent to 23mm.
  • Wide angle: 12 megapixel sensor with f/2.0 lens, autofocus and 16 millimeter equivalent.
  • telephoto: 1/2.4-inch 50-megapixel sensor with 0.7 micron pixels, f/1.6 aperture and 2X optical zoom. Equivalent to 50 mm.

Telephoto is interesting because it focuses a lot on portraits and has a really wide aperture, which helps to achieve both naturally beautiful bokeh and better performance at night.

On the front we find a 32 megapixel f / 2.5 camera With 1/2.8 inch sensor and 0.8 micron pixels. Vivo has also repeated the game, and in its alliance with ZEISS – we’ve seen this before on the Vivo X80 Pro – it combines both the prestigious company’s lenses and different processing modes.
