Schneider Electric and Capgemini jump on the private 5G bandwagon. The two parties jointly go to mainly industrial players with an end-to-end solution. Schneider Electric brings technical know-how and experience with Qualcomm wireless technology. Capgemini, on the other hand, has hands-on experience with networking and integration and has helped tailor the offering to clear use cases.

With their private 5G offer, the two partners are primarily targeting industrial locations. Think of large factories or port facilities. In a press release, we see above all a list of classic use cases of private 5G, such as the connection of devices and sensors for automation, control of (mobile) machines or material tracking.

Not only

Capgemini and Schneider Electric speak of an innovative solution, but it’s not entirely clear how the companies intend to differentiate themselves in this increasingly competitive market. Finally, end-to-end private 5G networks are a popular new product. HPE therefore acquired Athonet in February and NTT already has a detailed offer in cooperation with various parties such as VMware and Cisco.

The companies are working with Qualcomm for the technical story. An important point of the offer seems to be the practical implementation. Schneider Electric and Capgemini are positioning themselves as partners that will not only help with the adoption of the technology, but also with the integration with specific use cases designed to improve KPIs.
