The company’s initiative allows owners of branded smartphones to independently buy original spare parts and replace them using authorized tools. Such a move will allow tech-savvy iPhone users to do without a visit to a service center, eliminating the risk of purchasing low-quality components.
Apple’s new online store offers more than 200 parts (including cameras, batteries and display modules) and repair tools for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series smartphones, as well as the new iPhone SE.
Users can refer to the official manuals for replacing various components of branded devices. In addition, the company offers a professional tool kit rental service for $49 per week with free shipping.

After studying the documentation, iPhone owners can order the necessary spare parts. Apple says that the price and quality of components for private users will be the same as for authorized service centers.
Currently, the self-repair program is only available in the US, but will be rolled out to other countries by the end of the year, a list of which has not yet been published.
Later this year, instructions, parts, and tools for repairing Macs with Apple processors will be available. The vendor’s website also posted a document titled “Expanding Access to Reliable and Safe Service and Repair.” It (in English) details the company’s approach to developing durable products.
