iOS 16.4 is now available, here are its news

The wait is over and although many expected it to happen tomorrow, iOS 16.4 is now available for all iPhone users who want to update. Well, for all users of iPhones compatible with this update, which are the same ones that managed to make the jump to iOS 16 at the time. Later we will remind you which models are the ones that can still be updated today.

I say the debut was supposed to happen tomorrow because it would make sense for its launch to coincide with the arrival of Apple Music Classical, the long-awaited Apple Music app dedicated exclusively to classical music that it promised. when Primephonic was purchased, roughly a year and a half ago, and which, according to the original plans, was supposed to be released sometime in 2022. system, it makes sense that they pushed the release of iOS 16.4 up a day so that when users download Classical tomorrow, they can start using it immediately.

Of course, this is all speculation, but we do know what news comes from iOS 16.4. We already expected the most important ones a few weeks ago, and now Apple has published them together with the update itself a complete list of what we’ll find in one of the last major iOS 16 updates.

iOS 16.4 is now available, here are its news

Here’s the full list, according to what Apple tells us on this page:

  • 21 new emoticons including animals, hand gestures and objects are now available on the emoticon keyboard.
  • Notifications for web apps added to the home screen.
  • Voice isolation for mobile calls prioritizes your voice and blocks out the ambient noise around you.
  • The Duplicate in Photos album extends support for detecting duplicate photos and videos in a shared iCloud Photo Library.
  • VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app.
  • Accessibility settings to automatically mute video when light flashes or strobe effects are detected.
  • Fixes an issue where child purchase requests may not appear on the parent’s device.
  • Fixes issues where Matter enabled thermostats could become unresponsive when connected to Apple Home
  • Optimize crash detection on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models

Most notably, however, there are two important aspects of this update that for some reason Apple is not listed. They are the following:

  • The Home app brings back the new HomeKit architecture that debuted earlier, but has been shown to malfunction, forcing Apple to roll back the change until the issues are resolved.
  • This makes it much easier to manage the installation of beta versions on devices.

And we remember which iPhone models are the ones that can be updated to iOS 16.4, which, as I already indicated, are the ones that can use iOS 16:

  • iPhone SE 2
  • iPhone SE 3
  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone 11 (all models)
  • iPhone 12 (all models)
  • iPhone 13 (all models)
  • iPhone 14 (all models)
