Apple Music Classical grew out of Apple’s acquisition of Primephonic in 2021 with the goal of releasing a classical music app in 2022. Now available on the App Store, the new app promises to handle the complex metadata of classic posts more efficiently.
In addition, it offers carefully curated playlists and composer biographies to help users get to know the genre better. Thus, in addition to listening to the tracks available on the platform, one can learn a little more about the history of classical music.

Catalog contains more than 5 million tracks
With a catalog of over 5 million tracks, Apple Music Classical is capable of lossless high-resolution music playback at up to 192kHz/24bit. There are a few caveats though: Apple Music Voice Plan subscribers can’t use the app, and there won’t be a native iPad version at launch. Also, it is not possible to download songs for offline listening.
Apple ensures that the app gives you access to “the world’s largest catalog of classical music” with over 5 million tracks, including new releases, famous masterpieces and thousands of exclusive albums. In addition, you can search by composer, work, conductor or catalog number and instantly find the recordings you need.
At the time of this writing, Apple Music Classical is the number one music app on the App Store. The launch put it ahead of other market names like Spotify, YouTube Music and many more.
