ASUS ExpertBook B1 has long been synonymous with best practices when it comes to mobility. Whether for use in a corporate environment, for professionals or for students who need a computer that combines high performance, durability and portability, the truth is that the company has managed to hit the nail on the head with its design and choice of components. from this family, which is now expanding with the new ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502, two models that share the same design, features and benefits but differ in screen size, 14 and 15.6 inches respectively.
ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 renew the catalog but remain faithful to the premises by which ASUS defined the first models of the family. In terms of portability and durability, we therefore find a compact and light chassis, made of plastic reinforced with an aluminum alloy, which meets the MIL-STD-810H military standardwhich guarantees its resistance to shocks, falls, vibrations and extreme temperatures.
ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 displays are type IPS with FullHD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio) and NanoEdge technology, which reduces frames to a minimum and offers an 84% screen-to-body ratio. As usual for this type of panel, it offers a horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 178 degrees. As for its brightness, we find a maximum brightness of 305 cd/m² in the case of the 15.6-inch model and 240 cd/m² in the case of the 14-inch model. Both screens have an anti-reflective coating that improves visibility in bright environments. The hinge allows the screen to be opened up to 180 degrees.
When it comes to performance, these laptops are a pretty safe bet by packing 12th generation Alder Lake Core processors. Series models available from Core i3-12100 to Core i7-12700, all with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. The RAM can reach up to 48 gigabytes of DDR4-3200 and the storage is based on an M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 2 terabytes in size.
In terms of connectivity, these ExpertBook B1 B1402 and B1502 have USB-C Thunderbolt 4, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.0, RJ-45, microSD card reader and audio jack ports. In the wireless section we find WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The entire set is powered by a 66 Wh battery that promises up to 13 hours of autonomy. They also include a 65-watt compact charger with ASUS USB-C Easy Charge technology.
A key aspect of mobility is safety. ASUS ExpertBook B1 thus integrates various security measures to protect users’ privacy and data. These include a fingerprint reader integrated in the touchpad (optional), an HD webcam with a physical shutter, a TPM 2.0 chip that encrypts sensitive data, MyASUS software that allows you to lock or erase data in case of theft or loss, and the Windows Hello system that allows login using face recognition or fingerprint.
