According to Ukrinform, this was announced in Telegram, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Innovations, Education, Science and Technology Development – Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Previously, together with the General Staff, they announced the establishment of the world’s first UAV attack companies. Today, the first three UAV attack companies are ready for war. Together with the partners, they were fully staffed. Pickups, attack helicopters and Starlinks were delivered. All drones are made in Ukraine. Shock companies’ equipment was purchased by private donors,” he said.
Fedorov noted that UAVs will perform reconnaissance and attack missions in particular, guide artillery and help soldiers save lives in urban warfare. The cars will allow mobile groups to raid enemy lines, deliver cargo and evacuate the wounded.
“Courage and technology will do a lot for our victory. Not to lose the best people. Together with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the State Intelligence Service, the Department of Defense and United24, we continue to develop the UAV Army.”
As reported, on March 24, the government supported the implementation of an experimental two-year project on the defense procurement of domestic unmanned systems.
After consultations with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense signed 16 state contracts with Ukrainian UAV manufacturers. In 2023, the Ministry of Defense plans to allocate about 20 billion UAH to this segment.
