24 Channels decided to understand the situation and explain why there really isn’t any verification and any user could get such a mark today. And all thanks to changes to the social network initiated by Elon Musk.
Is Stepan Bandera’s Twitter page officially confirmed?
NO. According to the new Twitter rules, the page has not been checked, approved or verified. Any profile paying an $8 subscription can get a blue verification mark. Therefore, the blue tick indicates that the page owner is actually a premium user with a Twitter Blue subscription, as stated in the corresponding notice.
Although in such profiles there is a message that the page has been verified, in fact this is not the case. Earlier, the social network had already faced an influx of supposedly approved fake accounts, after which it had to stop the distribution of subscriptions. However, there has been no significant change, and despite the promise to ban pages pretending to be famous personalities, interesting cases still arise that often lead to the spread of scams, various scams and cryptocurrency scams.
As for the Twitter page of Stepan Bandera, the positive moment in history is the cries of horrified Russians who never understood the situation and still do not understand what is happening.
Meanwhile, Twitter is crashing
It’s been five months since billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk bought the microblogging platform Twitter and has since made a series of changes that have sparked outrage among users. Twitter was known for its ability to disseminate information in real time and provide access to expert knowledge. It was the primary source for journalists and experts to eavesdrop on conversations between interesting people. But after Elon Musk came to power, he set out to liquidate everything that made Twitter valuable.
Musk appears intent on ostracizing experts, intimidating celebrities, intimidating reporters, and rewarding bad actors, spammers, and sycophants who thrive in the information vacuum. As a result, the Twitter platform was effectively destroyed. What remains is like the ghost of the old social network. Every decision Musk makes leads to another expert exit as more loyal users give up and walk away.
Real users are outraged that they are being blackmailed into paying Musk to prove who they really are. These people are an important component of the network’s value, and of course they shouldn’t and won’t pay. As a result, their presence on Twitter will decrease, causing them to suffer even more as it will become increasingly difficult for users seeking quality information.
Also, only paying users will be able to vote in future Twitter political polls, meaning Musk will ensure that populist decisions are in favor of his fans. However, this seems like pure trolling as he still doesn’t stick with the poll results he doesn’t like.
Musk is quickly and confidently throwing Twitter into pure chaos. It’s not like he made any money out of it. Since Twitter Blue’s relaunch three months ago, it’s only had $11 million in subscription revenue, and the company itself has dropped from $40 billion to $20 billion, according to Sensor Tower. It’s still not entirely clear what’s going on, but Musk’s behavior could ultimately spell the end of Twitter.
