Titled “End Notorious, Aggressive and Ruthless Criminal Organizations and Syndicates” or better known as “Law Narcos”the initiative is being promoted by Senators Lindsey Graham, Mike Lee, John Kennedy, Marsha Blackburn, Josh Hawley and Steve Danes.
Reasons why Mexican cartels are considered terrorists their activities such as killing, kidnapping, and carrying explosives and other firearms used to commit criminal acts.
With him, the law would allow members of these criminal organizations to be barred from entering the United States. and those who help drug dealers will face harsher penalties.
IN The initiative provides for nine cartels to be designated as terrorist: Juarez Cartel, Northwest Cartel, Tijuana Cartel, Beltran-Leyva Cartel, Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel, Gulf Cartel, Los Zetas and La Familia Michoacana.
The White House has responded since early March to the Republicans and ensure that the United States has all legal authority to fight drug trafficking without having to declare the cartels as terrorist groups.
“Declare these cartels foreign terrorist organizations would not give us any additional competition something we don’t currently have,” Karine Jean-Pierre, spokeswoman for President Joe Biden, told a daily press conference.
