Apple announces the dates when WWDC 2023 will take place. As usual, Apple will again announce the new version of iOS and macOS.

Apple supporters can take their calendar and circle June 5th in red. The iPhone maker has announced that WWDC 2023 will take place from June 5th to 9th. As in previous years, the event will be streamed online and a select audience of developers and students will be invited to attend the first day of the event at Apple Park in Cupertino.

WWDC is all about developers, but devoted Apple fans from around the world are invariably in attendance for the opening keynote from Tim Cook and company. As usual, Apple will present the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS and watchOS during the conference. iOS 17 probably won’t be a big update, but it should open the doors to the AR headset Apple plans to launch this year.

What else can we expect?

However, Apple’s announcement doesn’t mention VR and AR, so whether we’ll hear more about the progress of the project at WWDC remains to be seen. Tim Cook has repeatedly mentioned that AR is a top priority in the company. An originally planned high-end model may have to give way to cheaper glasses (which would still cost up to $1,500) with limited hardware, although developers are advising Apple management to delay the launch.

The M2 Ultra chip may appear after Apple launched the M2 Pro and M2 Max in January. Normally we don’t get to see any new hardware products at WWDC, Apple will organize a few events for this in the fall.
