Unix-Solutions and BNIX will work together to improve the local Internet. Both parties find each other in the common striving for open and neutral internet networks.

BNIX today announces a partnership with data center operator Unix-Solutions. This gives Unix-Solutions customers direct access to the national Internet node via the data center in Zaventem and, in one fell swoop, to around sixty national and international content providers and Internet service providers.

Such a direct connection ensures that the speed and quality of IP traffic improve significantly. In addition to direct peering, BNIX also provides participants with a route server. This allows them to peer with a variety of other networks in a single BGP session.

Steven Bens, Managing Director of Unix-Solutions, clarifies: “With the arrival of this node in our data center in Zaventem, our customers can connect directly to one of the most important peering points in Belgium. By exchanging local data traffic with national and international providers, our customers benefit from significant gains in speed. With Unix-Solutions we are constantly looking for improvements to optimize our services for customers and partners. This collaboration with BNIX fits very well into this context.”

The BNIX participants can also benefit from the cooperation, since Unix-Solutions brings new parties into the network. “With the expansion of BNIX to Unix-Solutions, we want to further strengthen our local anchoring. It also fits perfectly into our long-term optimization and growth strategy,” says Stefan Gulinck, network architect at Belnet.
