The federal government published in the official gazette this Wednesday (29) the decision to zero taxes on solar panels. The exemption is valid until December 31, 2026 and no import tax, IPI and Pis/Cofins will be charged.

The exemption will apply to companies that are part of Padis (Semiconductor Technological Development Support Program) and the measure is expected to encourage investment in green infrastructure and new solar power plants.

According to the Department of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), expanding the program to the solar panel industry, one of the most dynamic to date, should lead to a significant increase in investment in the coming years, in addition to generating quality jobs in different states of the country. .
