Intel plans to release its first power-efficient chip for the Sierra Forest data center in early 2024. The company faced a tough time marked by product delays, but still has over 70% market share in the PC and server chip industry. 90% in 2017.

Sandra Rivera, head of Intel’s Data Center and Artificial Intelligence group, acknowledged the company’s recent challenges, but confirmed that Intel is currently on the right track with key engineering milestones. Rivera has confirmed that Emerald Rapids’ fifth-generation Xeon processor will be delivered by the end of 2023. The next-generation Granite Rapids processor is scheduled to launch in 2024, followed by Sierra Forest. Another energy-efficient Clearwater Forest chip is scheduled to hit the market in 2025.

Intel is also developing the Intel Developer Cloud, which includes 256 Xeon chips and 512 Gaudi chips for AI applications. AI startups Hugging Face and Stable Diffusion already use Intel chips.
