The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that simplifies the procedure for importing drone components into Ukraine during martial law.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced in Telegram, Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Innovations, Education, Science and Technology Development – Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

“An important step for the development of the Ukrainian UAV market. Together with the Ministry of Economy and with maximum support, the SBU has simplified the procedure for importing drone components to Ukraine during martial law. Drone manufacturers will no longer need to get a conclusion from the Security Service on this matter. The government has adopted the relevant decision,” he said. .

He reminded Fedorov that earlier it took 15 days to come to a conclusion, and the review itself delayed the process of importing components for drones. Simplifying the procedure will speed up the import, assembly and delivery of these components to the front.

“We continue to work to eliminate other blockers. We are amending the Customs and Tax Laws so that importers of drones do not pay import duties and VAT for drones and their components during martial law,” he said.

Reportedly, the government supported the implementation of an experimental two-year project on the defense procurement of indigenous unmanned systems. This is a solution that can accelerate our victory and develop the UAV market in Ukraine.

After consultations with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense signed 16 state contracts with Ukrainian UAV manufacturers. In 2023, the Ministry of Defense plans to allocate about 20 billion UAH to this segment.
