Former Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson announced this Sunday that she will be running for the Republican nomination. in the 2024 US presidential election, in which former President Donald Trump remains the favorite representing the Republican Party.

“I have made a decision, and my decision is that I will run for President of the United States.” Hutchinson said this Sunday in an interview with ABC.

The former governor of Arkansas explained that the official announcement of his candidacy would be this month in the town of Bentonville, Arkansas, but assured that already made a decision because he believes that Americans need leaders who “appeal to the best in America, not to their worst instincts.”

Hutchinson, 72, introduced herself moderate alternative to the ultra-conservative movement presented in already approved nominations Donald Trump or former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley.

“I am sure that people need leaders who represent the best in America, not those who appeal to their worst instincts,” said Hutchinson, who will make his announcement next month in his home state.
