According to the latest information we had the chance to see, Sony is working intensively on new hardware, and we are not talking about a single system, but several different products. We already told you about the supposed revision of the PS5 unites models with and without an optical drive around a single console with a removable optical drive and we also saw details possible PS5 Slim and expected PS5 Pro.

Now, however, new information from Tom Hendersonwho is currently one of the most reliable and well-known insiders, ensures that Sony is working on a new hardware will be introduced very soon, and that it will be a real surprise, so much so that they are looking forward to how the competition will react to said launch. He also explained that the said hardware it will be introduced before the PS5 Pro, but not beyond it.

Reading between the lines, we can appreciate several interesting details. The first is the resource does not label this new hardware from Sony as a PlayStation productn, indicating that this could be an independent product and far from the listed brand. On the other hand, Henderson said it won’t affect the price of the PS5, so it reinforces the idea of an independent product.

I personally think there is three big options and I will share them with you. The first would be new portable console from Sony, although it should fit into the PlayStation ecosystem, it is clear and the truth is that it would not be easy to compete with the Nintendo Switch and even mobile gaming, a very competitive market in which ASUS is the only one that, with its ROG Phonem really made a difference.

Second, it can be PS5 “trimmed” version, that is, a console with worse hardware and a lower price that would compete with the Xbox Series S. I see this possibility as the least likely, but I don’t dare to rule it out directly. Finally, we have the third option, which I honestly find the most interesting and at the same time quite plausible, a low-cost cloud gaming device.

We’ll keep an eye out and let you know all the info as soon as it’s confirmed, but in this “pool” I bet on a cheap cloud gaming device and you? Read in the comments.
