Google has changed the restrictions that apply to Google Drive cloud storage users. The changes affected the controversial five million file limit.

The fact is that some time ago, Google “quietly” imposed a limit on the number of files a user can store in Google Drive. No official statement was made on this subject, but users noticed the innovation and started making a fuss on social networks and forums.

Users concerned with such a restriction began to receive messages that they could not save new files to “Disk” until they deleted something from the content already stored in the cloud.

Now, the official page of the Google Drive team on the social network Twitter has announced that this limit has been removed. The developers explained:

We recently released a system update to limit the number of items on disk to maintain stability and optimize performance. While this has only affected a small number of people, we are reversing this change as we explore alternative approaches to ensure a great experience for all.
