The Council of Ministers approved the procedure for responding to cyber incidents and cyber attacks.

Referring to the ministry’s Telegram channel, Ukrinform reported that this was announced by Oleksandr Potiy, deputy head of the State Private Communications and Information Protection Service.

“The order approving a single mechanism for the implementation by cybersecurity organizations of operational procedures for responding to cyber incidents. “It also defines clear and understandable criticality levels of cyber incidents/cyber attacks and the stages of response to them,” said the Head of State Intelligence Agency.

The approval of the document enables the response processes to cyber incidents and cyber attacks to be shaped according to pre-planned measures, while also improving the approaches set forth in the organizational and technical model of cyber protection developed in 2021.

Potii added that within three months of the decision’s entry into force, the Service must approve methodical recommendations on cybersecurity organizations’ response to events in cyberspace.

As reported, in January-February 2023, the State Computer Emergency Response Team CERT-UA, operating under the State Special Communications Service, has processed more than 300 cyber incidents and cyber attacks.
