ASRock iBOX 1300 is the latest series of compact computers from the Taiwanese manufacturer. It uses the latest processors from Intel Core Raptor Lake 13 Gen and set up the system passive cooling this frees us from the annoying hum of the fans. Its use cases are varied and can be used in industrial systems, offices or for consumer desktops.

This mini-PC series uses an aluminum chassis in a rectangular design with relatively small dimensions 172 x 109 x 50 mm. The company offers six different configurations depending on your processor, with the option of installing a Core i3-1315UE, Core i5-1345UE or Core i7-1365UE. They are CPUs specially designed for the embedded market with a TDP of 15 watts and in the case of the Core i7 with integrated Iris Xe graphics.

Customers can choose between D4 or D5 configurations. The former supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 memory thanks to two 260-pin SODIMM slots, while the D5 configurations remain at 32 GB of memory but support a more advanced interface and frequency. DDR5-4800 faster than before.

In both cases, its internal storage capacity is covered by a connector M.2 2280 for PCIe Gen 4 x4 SSD and a 2.5-inch slot for expansion with hard drives or SATA SSDs. Its connectivity is very completewith ports on the back and front:

  • 2 2.5 GbE Ethernet LAN connectors
  • 1 HDMI 2.0b port
  • 1 DisplayPort 1.4a port
  • 1 Thunderbolt 4 port
  • 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
  • 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
  • 2 USB 2.0 Type A
  • 1 combo jack for audio, 3.5mm jack
  • 1 RS-232 COM port

We don’t know the prices of these ASRock iBOX 1300s, new models that are added to the long list of mini-PCs launched this year. If OEM PC towers are conspicuous by their absence and the existing ones are maintained by the users themselves, this minimal form factor has not stopped expanding and today they are dominant in the desktop group.
