Akamai Technologies introduces new managed security services to protect customers from cyberattacks.
CDN specialist Akamai launches new security services. The company now offers 24/7 proactive monitoring and quick responses in the event of a cyber attack. Akamai also offers a premium version of the service that offers customers personalized support and priority in escalation processes.
The expansion of managed security services is a response to the growing threat of credential stuffing and distributed denial-of-service attacks that can disrupt or disable an organization’s operations.
New features of Managed Security Services
As part of the Managed Security Services update, customers have expanded access to Akamai experts, technical advice, and support at no additional cost. The price for a basic package remains the same, but gets additional features. The price of additional configurations of App & API Protector, Bot Manager Premier and Managed Page Integrity has been reduced.
Customers also get more help with after-hours configuration assistance, Akamai University seats, and quarterly reviews. These three supplements are included in the base package of Akamai’s Managed Security Service.
Premium Security Operations Control Center service
In addition to the enhancements to its managed security service, Akamai is also introducing a premium service called Security Operations Control Center (SOCC). With this additional service, customers get access to personalized support and priority in case of escalation. As part of SOCC, customers get 24/7 access to experts and customized information to better tailor security to their business.
Proactive communication by SOCC experts, regular assessments, improved site monitoring and a customized security incident dashboard, event management or SIEM view are also part of the premium offering.
Akamai’s SOCC premium service will be available to customers starting April 6th.
