The company noted that deepening cooperation with Fortinet, one of the world’s leading developers in this direction, will allow the mobile operator to provide businesses and government organizations with a wide range of relevant cybersecurity solutions based on cloud technologies. Thanks to these, it will be possible to increase the fault tolerance of IT services, as well as to ensure a high level of protection of the cloud and ground IT infrastructure of organizations.

Fortinet’s solutions will be available in various variants, from physical hardware to dedicated virtual machines. It will be possible to use it especially under subscription conditions, which will significantly reduce the financial burden on businesses and optimize costs.

The number of cyberattacks has increased significantly since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In particular, throughout 2022 and early 2023, the resources of government officials, public and private enterprises with critical infrastructure, the media, financial sector companies were subjected to them. In Kyivstar alone, more than 450 DDoS attacks against the network and more than 13,000 phishing attacks were successfully blocked by cybersecurity department employees during the full-scale war year.

As reported, from 2021, Kyivstar business customers will already have access to AntiDDoS service (a Fortinet’s FortiDDoS-based solution) for protection against DDoS attacks. In addition, the company offers comprehensive protection against cyber threats, including Fortinet solutions. They can be used as both complex and separate services and can be combined with solutions already installed by customers.

Kyivstar is Ukraine’s largest electronic communications operator, serving 24.4 million mobile subscribers and more than 1.1 million “Home Internet” subscribers as of September 2022. The company offers a wide range of mobile and fixed technologies-based services, including 4G.
