Cloud, proxy, web, authentication, email and push notifications are still unavailable even after at least two days since the first user notifications.

The custom My Cloud status page states that the issue affects:

• My CloudAllows Westen Digital equipment owners to organize personal cloud storage with anywhere access via the Internet. Westen Digital has disabled this feature to protect users from potential hacker attacks and identity theft. Users are only granted local access to files on their hard drives.

The company is reportedly working to restore the affected infrastructure and services, but no timetable has yet been given.

My Cloud brings up to 40% profit to the company. This service is used by both corporate customers and private individuals who believe it is more reliable to store data in their own cloud rather than a public cloud (for example, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox). This carries the risk of serious reputational losses.
