Fitness services are also being cut, with some gyms likely to be closed on Mondays and Fridays, and transportation and catering services adjusted to better fit the hybrid schedule. Employees also noticed a decrease in stocks of staplers and ribbons at print stations.

Google is going through a period of major cost cuts, including cutting 12,000 jobs in January this year, about 6% of its workforce. In a statement, a Google spokesperson said the company is doing “some practical changes to keep our resources accountable while continuing to offer industry-leading benefits and amenities“.
