DJI has released a new firmware update for the DJI Mini 2 (v01.07.0200) and Mini 2 SE (v01.00.0360) drones. The update comes a few days after the updates for the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro drones, and is based on a novelty that was also implemented in these models, namely, a factory reset, erasing all data stored on the drone.
DJI Mini 3 drone gets support for 48-megapixel photos, which it theoretically did not even support
This novelty is interesting mainly in two situations, the first one is when some function is not working optimally and factory reset may be the last alternative before sending it to a technician, and the second option is more related to selling the drone, ensuring that all drone data that is out of scope factory settings will be deleted, which will avoid problems with the transfer of personal data.
This is not a security update, the user should be interested in new features.
To use these features, simply enter the DJI Fly settings and on the About tab, click Reset All Settings. This function will reset the camera settings, stabilizer and security issues to factory default.
The “Clear All Data” function will generate the aircraft’s internal storage, such as flights, in addition to images from the micro SD card connected to the aircraft. Here it is important to pay attention to backing up files before doing this process. It is also worth noting that it is not recommended to permanently delete data, as flight data may be requested if assistance is needed.
The RC-N1 controller can be updated to firmware v04.11.020 and requires the DJI Fly app 1.9.9.
