The four Samsung smartphones released in 2019 will no longer be updated. Galaxy S10, S10e, S10+ and A50 removed from update list. However, the other two cell phones in the S10 lineup, which were released in the same period as the previous ones, will receive software updates.

This means that cell phone owners on the line Galaxy S10 and A50 will no longer be able to receive software updates from Samsung – including security packages for devices. In any case, it is important to remember that devices will continue to operate as usual, but changes may be felt in the use of applications.

Some applications require cell phone updates, especially security packages, to work. Lack of updates on devices means that some apps may no longer work perfectly, forcing device owners to look for other alternatives.

The good news is only available to Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy S10 Lite owners. The first was launched in 2019 and still appears on the company’s website as a device capable of receiving updates. The second one was introduced by the manufacturer at the beginning of 2020 and should continue to receive patches as usual during this year.

End of support doesn’t surprise users

The end of support for Samsung devices is not surprising, since the Galaxy S10, S10e, S10+ and A50 models are already four years old. The S10 series launched with Android 9 and received three major updates (Android 10, 11 and 12), while the A50 started at 9 and reached 11.

The latest Galaxy S10 Lite released in March received One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. The South Korean leader’s new UI prolongs the life of the device with cool features such as redesigned widgets, augmented reality emoji and more.
