But the handheld gaming market has turned upside down in the past two years. Yes, it can be played on a smartphone, but the experience is much less compared to a dedicated machine, no matter how powerful the mobile phone is.

The launch of a dozen portable consoles should not have gone unnoticed at Sony’s headquarters, where the resistance brought by Valve’s Steam Deck stands out, but also models from Chinese manufacturers such as AYA or One-Netbook. Earlier in the week there were rumors of a “Vita 2” that would focus on cloud gaming and now Insider Gaming claims to have “exclusive” development of the codenamed portable console QLite. The console wouldn’t be a cloud streaming device, but would instead use remote gaminga feature that has been present since the PS4 and that Sony has been pushing in recent weeks to allow current and future games to be played on the PS5.
