The US Pentagon is investigating leak of various secret documents with information about the plans of his country and NATO regarding the war in Ukraine.

The documents were supposed to appear this week, published in various twitter accounts and distributed via Telegram, the newspaper reports. The newspaper “New York Times.

According to the military sources of the aforementioned newspaper, some aspects of the documents had to be changed before publication, for example, American estimates of the number of Ukrainians who died during the conflict, and Russian casualties, which military analysts say could be indicative of Moscow’s attempt to spread disinformation to boost Russian morale over its invasion of Ukraine.

However, they note, leaks represent a huge gap in US intelligenceand although the government has attempted to seize all copies of the documents, this has so far failed.

The newspaper gave more details about the leaked documents, which actually concern photographs of said documentsand that they are also five weeks old, so they show outdated information from US intelligence.

And although the leaked information does not contain very secret plans, the US authorities fear that it could give several key tips for the Russian armyand analysts interviewed by the newspaper say it is difficult to assess the real damage to the Ukrainian offensive that such a leak could cause.
