On Thursday, April 28, Apple again bypassed the problems of several tech companies, offering investors a good result. Thanks to significant sales of the latest versions of iPhone smartphones, the company’s profits exceeded the forecast for the period ending March 26, which coincides with the second fiscal quarter of 2022. Also, the services department recently set a record high compared to the hedging period.

Also led by Tim Cook, the company generated record revenue for the quarter: a total of $97.3 billion, up 9% from the previous year. Net income increased 6% to $25 billion.
The result was noted by the company due to a difficult scenario for the equipment sector, which is facing difficulties not only in the supply of raw materials, but also in the workforce.
“This quarter’s record results demonstrate Apple’s relentless focus on innovation and our ability to create the world’s best products and services,” the CEO said in a letter to shareholders.
Despite this, CFO Luca Maestri projects losses of up to $8 billion this quarter due to supply constraints and production curbs in China. Two weeks ago, analysts estimated that Apple could halt production of up to 10 million iPhones due to the blockade of factories located in China.
Apple iPhone is solidly established and services set a new record
In general, things are going well at the company. As for equipment, most of the revenue falls on the iPhone, as expected – $50.6 billion. Then we have a $10.4 billion Mac; Wearables, home and accessories for $8.8 billion.
The most recent was the iPad with $7.6 billion (category down 2%, impacting supply chain constraints).
Maestri announced that Apple’s services sector set new records this quarter: “Continued high customer demand for our products has helped us hit a record for the entire active device base installed,” – commented the CFO.
The number of subscribers of the company increased by 25% compared to the previous year and reached 825 million and 40 million accounts were added compared to the last quarter. The category includes iCloud, Apple TV +, Apple Music and other platforms.
The region’s revenue reached $19.8 billion – it’s worth remembering that App Store transactions are also part of this segment.
