Now that all the masks have been torn, the whole world has clarified who attacked Ukraine in cyberspace and why. Cyber attacks on Ukrainian information systems are carried out on the orders of the same people around the world who attacked Ukraine. The same Russian military hackers are attacking other democracies. This was announced during a briefing by Viktor Zhora, Deputy Head of the State Special Service.
“Ukraine has been a testing ground for attacks by Russian hackers for years. “The approaches and technologies that are being tested” on the Ukrainian information infrastructure are “the approaches and technologies they use in other countries,” said Victor Zhora.
For example, in 2014 Russian hackers attacked the Ukrainian Central Election Commission servers and dared to interfere in the 2016 and 2020 US elections.
“Creating sustainable cybersecurity is a global challenge. To fight the threat together, we need to come together, share knowledge and experience, conduct joint trainings and exercises. After all, it is not just about Ukraine,” stressed Viktor Zhora. Source
