Print Screen is probably one of the least used keys for the vast majority of users. This actually makes sense because the need to take screenshots (screenshots) is not common, to the extent that there are many people who probably never need it or at least are not forced to perform this particular operation and instead resort to alternative actions such as is describing with text what they would otherwise illustrate with a picture.
However It has always been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. This is not always true, as there are many circumstances in which even a folder full of pictures could not compete with the accuracy that words provide in many circumstances. Of course, why choose when we can use A and B at the same time? Limiting ourselves to one means that when we have the opportunity to use both, we limit ourselves unnecessarily.
Which brings me to my next point, and it is there are many people who do not use screenshots for the simple reason that they do not know how to take them. Again, this may sound strange to those who do this regularly, but it is not at all to those who have never needed it until the time comes. And this may seem like a small detail, but it’s not: if you press the Print Screen key, “nothing happens”. Yes, well, it happens that it gets copied to the Windows clipboard, but the system gives no indication that this has happened, so it seems that nothing happened,
Microsoft seems to have realized this and subsequently are considering changing Print Screen behavior in Windows 11. Until now, as I said, pressing this key would copy the contents of the screen to the Windows clipboard, but with the change that Redmond is already testing, this key would open the Windows Snipping Tool, one of the Windows screenshot tools.
This change has already reached beta channel insiders, as we can read in Windows Latest, specifically to the KB5025310 Windows 11 compilation, so we will have to wait a little longer before its deployment reaches users of the final version. Of course, both for those who are in the beta channel and want to restore the default behavior of Print Screen, and for other users, if this change persists, the rollback is possible and simple, just go to Settings> Accessibility> Keyboard and adjust it according to our preferences .
