Such receipts were a mistake and were received with a message that the Google Pay Remittance testing was in progress. Everyone received different amounts – someone wrote about $ 40, someone wrote 46, someone 200, and someone was as lucky as a thousand.
As users wrote and demonstrated in multiple screenshots, money transfers were accompanied by the message: “Testing the Google Pay Remittance experience.”
For now, users who received unexpected transfers have been sent emails by the Google Pay team with details of “an error causing an unsolicited credit to be placed on the account.”
Since the issue has since been resolved, the developers say such fees will now be canceled “whenever possible”. At the same time, for users who have already spent or transferred money, Google adds: “If we can’t get the fee back, you can keep the money. You don’t need to take any further action”.
They undertake not to withdraw funds spent in this way. Anyone who spends or transfers money owes Google nothing.
