ASUS Vivobook 2023 is a new series of notebooks that the Taiwanese manufacturer has just introduced. Very well updated for the occasion, they offer a variety of screen sizes and panel qualities and the ability to choose between Intel and AMD hardware.
Models with an OLED screen are repeated as the star of the series. And the fact that these panels based on organic light-emitting diodes are not common on the consumer market. They are included in different screen sizes, 14, 15 and 16 inches diagonal, with a native resolution of 2.8K, 3.2K and the top of the range that reaches UHD 4K.
have technology Nano Edge OLED, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support, PANTONE verification and TÜV Rheinland certification against blue light emissions. Its refresh rate reaching 120 Hz, response time of 0.2 ms and dedicated graphics, which we will see later, make it possible for games as well. Its contrast ratio is also high at 1,000,000:1, and it also has high dynamic range support up to DisplayHDR True Black 600.
To keep costs as low as possible, ASUS also offers FHD LCD displays for these models. And for those looking for large laptops, it includes models with a screen o 17.3 inches. All have metal and polycarbonate chassis.
The variety that the user can choose from also extends to the internal hardware. On the one hand, there are the latest Intel processors, the Raptor Lake 13th Gen, with versions of the ‘P’ series (up to Core i71360P) or the high-performance ‘H’ series up to Core i9-13900H. On these models, ASUS optionally includes a dedicated NVIDIA RTX 3050 or RTX 2050 graphics card to complement integrated Intel UHD or Xe graphics.
They can include 8 or 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory (expandable to 32 GB) and a 512 GB or 1 TB SSD connected to PCIe 3/4.0. Well connected, it includes Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, several USB 3.2 and Wi-Fi 6E ports and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. It has a 720p webcam and an optional fingerprint sensor. Its batteries have a capacity of up to 63 Wh and the audio section is powered by SonicMaster.
It is appreciated that manufacturers sell devices with different platforms for the user to choose from. ASUS normally does this and these Vivobooks also include versions with AMD and specifically with Ryzen 7000 Mobile processors, up to Core i7 7730U with eight cores.
It includes integrated AMD Radeon graphics, DDR4-3200 RAM (8 or 16 GB) and PCIe 4.0 SSD drives up to 1 Tbyte. Connectivity is similar to the Intel models (except Thunderbolt 4) with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C (3.2), HDMI 1.4 and batteries up to 50 Wh.
The Taiwanese manufacturer will launch eight different models adapt to the needs of each consumer. Five are for the Intel platform and half use OLED screens, as you’ll see in the following list:
All will come pre-installed with Windows 11 and come in a variety of colors. Expecting prices, these consumer laptops look great for everyday productivity, entertainment and casual gaming.
