If you’re one of those people who like to customize their computer equipment and components to the maximum and are a Star Wars fan at the same time, you’ll love the new FireCuda SSDs from Seagate.
With name Special Edition Lightsaber Collection FireCudait is an M.2 SSD for the PCIe 4 interface that stands out including three exchangeable faceplates Based on iconic lightsaber designs of the three main characters of Star Wars: Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.
The replaceable front plate mechanism was designed and developed by liquid cooling manufacturer EKWB. They say the motherboard will need a 5V addressable header to control the lighting on the faceplate you mount.
The rest include TLC Nand 3D memories and the Phison E18 controller, which increases their performance practically to the limit of the PCIe 4.0 interface with data transfer speeds 7300 MB per second random read and 6900 Mbytes per second in writes.
Seagate offers a five-year warranty on its FireCuda SSDs, an average time between failures of 1.8 million hours and a minimum of 5,100 Tbytes written before their end of life. They will soon be launched in storage capacities 1 and 2 TB with respective prices of $184 and $289.
You already know that the license to use such media universes as Star Wars costs a lot, hence the increase in the price of these units, which – except for customization – are based on the FireCuda 530 model, which costs much less: 109 and 188 dollarsrespectively
Of course, it’s not every day you can boast of having a Jedi master’s lightsaber as internal storage on your PC.
