The flexible Frontline licenses are now available in a cloud subscription for Microsoft Azure with Windows 11 or 10.
With frontline licenses, Microsoft is targeting companies in which many employees work in shifts. They work on the same device at different times, eliminating the need for multiple licenses.
Through Windows 365 Frontline, organizations can provision up to three users with one license. The only limitation is that only one user can be active within a license at a time. This saves many organizations a lot of money.
With Windows 365, you can run a virtualized Windows 11 or Windows 10 machine and stream directly from the Azure cloud. When a machine is not in use, it is automatically switched off. In this way, Microsoft prevents that in the event of a misunderstanding where someone has not logged out, another user cannot start. On the other hand, everyone needs to save their documents so they don’t get lost.
Organizations interested in the Windows 365 Frontline preview can register here.
In mid-2021, Microsoft launched Windows 365, a PC in the cloud that’s always there for you. Prices start at EUR 18.20 excl. VAT per month for the basic configuration. The launch was so successful that Microsoft had to temporarily discontinue free trial accounts. Meanwhile, anyone can request such a trial account to stream Windows 11 from Azure.
