Nine humanoid robots Social media will engage with journalists at a press conference to be hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) next July during its annual summit on using artificial intelligence for laudable purposes.
According to the agency, which functions as the technology arm of the United Nations, a group of humanoid robots capable of interact with people will answer questions from the press about an unprecedented event around the world, which will take place in Geneva 6 and 7 July.
In addition, about forty robots are designed to perform various tasks such as firefighting, building houses or provide medical care– will be present with their creators and show their capabilities to the participants of the summit, which is open to all (registration required) for free.
The representative of the ILO specified that among the robots that will be in contact with journalists there will be Beonmi, the first full-featured general purpose humanoid robot; and Nadine, one of the most realistic social humanoids.
They will also be Sophia, an innovative robot who acts as an ambassador for the group. United Nations dedicated to promoting development; Robot Ai-Da, an artist robot considered “ultra-realistic”, and Grace, one of the most advanced examples in terms of healthcare.
With its top on artificial intelligencel, ITU is challenged to demonstrate that new technologies can help achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, especially in areas such as climate change and humanitarian crisis response.
