Commissioning of Proscenic P12

The first thing that positively stands out when you get the new Proscenic P12 handheld vacuum cleaner is its square and not too big box. The secret is that your the suction tube is telescopicso together with the rest of the components (main equipment, wall mount, two extra suction heads, power cable and floor brush) it doesn’t take much.

The main team (which you can see in the pictures that accompany this article) has trash can (with a capacity of 1.2 liters), led screen from which we switch to different suction modes and in which we also see light icons that indicate whether the container is full, whether the floor brush is blocked and what percentage of the battery we have left, as well as HEPA outletbattery and button to release the dust container.

Before you start using the Proscenic P12, it is advisable to fully charge its battery. We think it’s a good idea so you don’t have to take all the main equipment (like some competing cordless vacuums) and plug it into the mains. Thanks to the button to remove the battery, it can be removed and connected to the current to start charging.

The blue light is on while the battery is charging, and when it turns off, it is fully charged. We had it for 2 hours and 40 minutes and read that it usually lasts a bit longer, but it’s true that the battery wasn’t completely dead. Plus, since it’s removable, it was possible to buy another unit to double the suction time (there’s an accessories section on the Proscenic website where there isn’t one for the P12 yet, but they’ll update it soon, I’m sure).

A moment of aspiration

Once we’ve fully charged the Proscenic P12 battery, it’s time to put it to the test while cleaning. His brushless motor provides a 33 kPa suction (120 AW) in four speeds. It defaults to second gear and it’s possible to increase (and also decrease) the suction power by pressing from its LED screen.

The manufacturer is talking about 60 minutes of autonomy in silent mode (the first of them and with less suction power) and even 13 minutes at max (fourth level). In our tests, the reality is that with a fully charged battery, we spent 4 minutes and 24 seconds at maximum power, and the battery percentage dropped to 39%. After resting for a while, we went back to max aspiration for 1 minute and 56 seconds and the battery ended up dead.

Interestingly, the floor brush comes with V-shaped guide bristles, which reduces tangles caused by fur (very useful if we have dogs or cats at home) and thus makes the operation smoother. Also highlight Vertect Light technologywhich is the green light you can see in the image below that detects dust particles (dirt in general) that are invisible to the naked eye and helps us to make cleaning more efficient when we vacuum.

The handling of the Proscenic P12 is quite good. His Direction of rotation by 180° It will allow us to clean hard-to-reach places from any angle, and thanks to its extendable suction tube, we can adjust it to the length that suits us best. The truth is that the brush glides easily on hard floors like stoneware or wood, but requires a little push on carpets or rugs.

Also say the vacuum works with a trigger. To start vacuuming, simply press it once and release. If we want to turn it off, we will have to press the trigger a second time.

As for his five-stage filter system, has cyclone dust separation and two HEPA filters that capture 99.99% of dust particles and push out purified air without allergens. To clean the dust container, we can press a button that releases the lid and dirt falls out, or we can remove the entire container when cleaning the components of the filter system.

conclusions

The Proscenic P12 is a cordless vacuum that is reasonably priced for the features it offers and is lower than other competing models. However, it suffers from the shortcomings that most cordless vacuum cleaners have, we mean its short battery life and limited suction power.

If it is clear to us that a vacuum cleaner of this type will never replace a regular vacuum cleaner that we connect to the mains and which also has a much higher suction power, buying the Proscenic P12 will be a great idea to carry. faster daily floor maintenance and leave the “heavy artillery” once or twice a week.
