Be that as it may, the already announced arrival of longer tweets, up to 4000 characters, was confirmed at the beginning of February. Recall that this feature has been in the works for several months and that it has also scaled to its maximum size because at first there was talk of up to 1000 charactersa huge jump from the standard maximum size (280 characters), but it would still stay more or less true to the original spirit of Twitter, which, remember, originally had a 140 character limit per message.

So for about two months now, Twitter Blue users have been able to send big messages, although to be honest, in my experience with Twitter at the moment I have hardly seen any messages that use the said limit. Mind you, I’m not saying it isn’t, I’m just saying that I feel like the usage volume of this feature is rather low. And of course I understand that, because it goes exactly against what I commented on in the previous paragraph, the original spirit of the social network.

However, there seem to be some who find this bar too low. So as we can read in The Verge, Twitter has increased the maximum size of Twitter Blue messages to 10,000 characters. To make reading easier, it also includes the option to highlight parts of the text in bold and italics. Quite a bit of detail, as 10,000 such figures on full and dry paper becomes a bit of a chore.

In case you’re wondering (and it would be normal, since people usually don’t count the letters of what they read), the entire text of this news has a total of 2,610 characters, to give you an idea of ​​the nonsense that there is such an outrageous limit for a social network.
