Google says the new Translate widgets are more useful and interactive. They also follow Material You guidelines for personalizing your account.
Where the previous version of the widget was simple and offered only a shortcut for quickly translating text or recording and opening the camera, Translate Quick Actions is more functional: there are already several shortcuts for voice translation, conversation, transcription and camera mode.
A maximum of four quick action fields can be displayed on the screen. On an Android 12 device, the widget takes the color of the wallpaper using Dynamic Color technology.
Insiders report that Google is also working on the Saved Translations widget, but it is not yet known when they will be available to users.
