United States acknowledges shortage of spare parts for A-10 Thunderbolt II fighters

Information about the state of the US Air Force appeared on the Internet. It turned out that the Air Force is facing a shortage of spare parts for the repair and modernization of the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft.

According to Pamela Lee, director of the A-10 attack systems, some aircraft will not be able to perform the tasks in this regard. This was possible because the Air Force allocated funds to cancel the planes, but the agency continued to operate them.

It was reported that the fuselage repair of the attack aircraft was canceled. As such, 120 aircraft could potentially be decommissioned at once. The number of aircraft sent for revision was also halved.

It will be remembered that the first flight of the twin-engine A-10 Thunderbolt II took place in 1972. It was created for direct air support of ground forces.
