In a post made on Weibo over the weekend, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed promotional images of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra showing the design of the upcoming smartphone, which has a silhouette similar to that of a camera. The launch of the device is scheduled for this Tuesday (18).

As the manufacturer’s CEO posted, without comment: “With this suit, the phone turns into a camera! Mi 13 Ultra has a wide range of features for professional photography. There are a lot of fun things in this set,” and said that more information will be released at the press conference.

Over the past few days, the Chinese company has been teasing various aspects of the phone ahead of its launch. Recently, the manufacturer released information about the camera sensors used in the smartphone. Now, Xiaomi has officially revealed the design of the Mi 13 Ultra, which looks more like a camera than a smartphone.

The body of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is made of metal alloy and has a new second-generation synthetic leather top layer. The new leather material on the back is antibacterial, stain resistant and has a special anti-yellowing treatment.

According to the company, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has cameras with Leica-adjusted special Summicron lenses and Sony IMX989 and Sony IMX858 sensors. The quad-camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor and three 50MP Sony IMX858 sensors that provide enhanced noise reduction and HDR capabilities.

As previously reported, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The device features a 6.7-inch LTPO WQHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
