American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk announced that he will call his artificial intelligence (AI) rival ChatGPT and Bard, TruthGPT.
This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reports.
Musk criticized OpenAI, the company that develops ChatGPT systems, for saying “Artificial intelligence has learned to lie.” According to him, OpenAI has evolved into a “closed, commercial” organization “closely affiliated with Microsoft”.
The entrepreneur also accused Google co-founder Larry Page of not taking AI security seriously.
“I plan on launching something I call ‘TruthGPT’, or the most accurate AI that tries to understand how the world works,” Musk said in an interview with Fox News.
He added that TruthGPT “could be the best route to security” that is “very unlikely to destroy humans”.
According to sources familiar with the agency, Musk is recruiting artificial intelligence researchers from Alphabet Inc’s Google to launch an initiative to compete with OpenAI.
According to state records, Musk registered X.AI Corp in Nevada last month. The company lists Musk as the sole executive.
According to the agency, Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left the company’s board in 2018. In 2019, he announced on Twitter that he was leaving OpenAI as he needed to focus on Tesla and SpaceX.
At the time, he wrote, among other reasons for leaving OpenAI: “Tesla was competing for the same people as OpenAI, and I didn’t agree with what the OpenAI team wanted to do.”
As Ukrinform reports, the American company Google is working to develop a new search system with artificial intelligence.
