The Council of the European Union supported the proposal to allow Ukrainians to travel in Europe and European travelers not to pay additional communication fees in Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in Telegram.
“The European Council and the European Commission support the permanent participation of Ukraine in free movement with the EU. To this end, the European Commission has proposed the inclusion of roaming-related provisions in Annex 17-3 of the Association Agreement. In the message, the European Council approved this proposal and He gave the “green light” for the approval of the Ukraine-EU bilateral decision.
It was noted that Ukraine is currently waiting for the approval of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee decision in the trade composition. “We are working to ensure that all conditions are met for Ukraine to join Roam like the main region,” said the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
As reported, in February 2023, European and Ukrainian communication operators signed a new joint declaration-memorandum, extending the agreement of affordable roaming by six months for Ukrainians staying in different EU countries due to the war.
