LG is working on hybrid OLED panels for future Apple devices, formed from a rigid glass substrate that passes through a flexible, ultra-thin layer shell. This process will produce a thickness of 0.2mm, more than twice as thin as current glass substrates typically made at 0.5mm.

However, it should take some time for this technology to arrive, given that it will be launched in conjunction with eighth-generation OLED technology, and the next iPads (this year and next) will continue to use sixth-generation displays from both LG and Apple. Samsung. Apple itself also expects its first OLED MacBooks to be released only in 2025, so plans could include launching a suite of computers and tablets with the new displays.

Eighth generation plants of these panels also guarantee up to 15,000 sheets of 2200 x 2500mm, which is a significant savings in scale, more than what was seen in the 6th generation. Current production is smaller, consuming more energy in a reduced process. Its dimensions are 1500 x 1850 mm and are mainly used for smartphone and tablet screens. LG and Apple Partner for the Future

Apple is even rumored to require LG and Samsung to supply multilayer OLED panels to increase their brightness and lifespan. So far, however, only LG has been able to achieve this and is bringing the technology back to the automotive industry.

They also note that LG Display has been testing the layout of OLED 8.5 technology for some time, which can ensure that they have already advanced in design and mass production can begin without any major problems.
