We already told you about Adobe Firefly a few weeks ago, Adobe’s new giant leap in implementing AI-based features. What technology had advanced to us at that time was already surprising, and the fact that the public beta of these features had already started made it clear to us that there was no talk of proof of concept, future development or anything like that, they were not, it was something, what was there
This week in Las Vegas, NAB 2023 eventand it was the space that Adobe chose to show some of the most amazing new features of Adobe Firefly in action, and as we already expected when its official announcement was made, we are talking about technologies that aim to completely change the worlds of digital production and editing , image, sound and video content, creating processes within the reach of a simple text command, which require much more time, work and, of course, skills with traditional media.
A big paradigm shift goes hand in hand with what Adobe calls text editing, which is exactly what the name implies. This feature, which is integrated into Adobe Premiere Pro, a technological video editing tool, automatically transcribes the text of the videos we use in editing so that we can find and organize them quickly and easily. Adobe defines it as:
«Instead of going through hours of footage just to find the right bits of audio, you can now go through the transcripts, search for keywords and add them to the timeline and start a preview.«.
Anyone who has edited long videos knows very well how much time has to be spent either pre-arranging the fragments or finding the necessary parts at each moment. Transcribing text and being able to use it for this purpose represents an exceptional advance that will free many professionals from hours and hours of one of the most boring editing tasks.
Another feature we speculated about a few weeks ago is aautomatic tone assignment. Again, through a simple text prompt, we can tell Adobe Premiere Pro that we want to correct the tone of the image. The really interesting thing about this feature is that we can use more technical concepts if we wish, but we will also have the option to do more “human” indications like “Change to sunset”. This Adobe Firefly feature will be in charge of analyzing the video and making the necessary color and lighting corrections to make it look what we’ve indicated.
In the previous image, you can see how the prompt modifies the look of the entire video, but as you’ve probably already guessed, changes can also be applied locally to some specific element of the image using the same method:, which exponentially multiplies its usefulness:
As for generative artificial intelligence, Adobe Firefly also comes with very interesting news for content creators. OF create free sounds and music for your creationsuntil from text and description to generate texts and logos with amazing visual effectseven if we generate animations with them, we will have a huge battery of tools that will allow us to quickly and in a few minutes obtain results that usually require many hours of work and specific knowledge in many other areas.
