At a press conference in the presence of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Fire Department Chief of Operations John Esposito indicated that five more people were injured in connection with the collapse of the parking lot.
John Esposito added that four were injured they were taken to the hospital nearby to receive medical care, their health condition is assessed as “stable”.
The rest of the victims refused medical attention.
He indicated that everyone had been evicted from the damaged building, and They carried out an “extremely dangerous operation” as the building continued to collapse.
The garage, built in 1957, is a four-story, elevated structure (as is customary in New York, no underground levels) and is located on Ann Street, next to the private PACE University.

What caused the collapse of the parking lot is unknown..
The firefighters involved in the initial rescue had to leave the building, fearing that structural damage would cause another collapse of the remains; agents continued to search with robot dogs and drones so as not to endanger your personnel.
The parking lot was used, for example, by officers of the sheriff’s office, but none of them were hurton the first account.
