Microsoft has issued a new reminder on its website regarding the imminent total discontinuation of support for the legendary Internet Explorer browser.
Last year, Microsoft announced the “death date” of Internet Explorer – June 15, 2022. In a recent post, Microsoft asked corporate customers to stop using the browser on their own, without waiting for official support to end:
Don’t wait for June 15th! Set your own IE end date.
About six weeks before it stops supporting the browser, Microsoft argues many organizations are already in the final stages of preparing to give up, and all they have to do is wait for IE to shut down after July 15. Microsoft notes:
Now you just have to wait for IE to shut down after June 15… right? It’s one approach, but we know it can be stressful waiting for something to happen, especially in complex IT environments. Therefore, we recommend that you schedule your own internal decommissioning date instead of waiting. The best way to prepare for IE to be shut down after June 15 is to disable IE in your organizations by June 15. Source
