Sony has announced that it has released a new system software update for the PlayStation 5 console. Update 23.01-07.20.00.05 has already started rolling out to users around the world.
The volume of the update is large – 1.51 GB. Sony traditionally doesn’t reveal many details in the release description:
We have improved the performance and stability of the system software. We’ve improved messaging and usability on some screens. We updated the firmware of the DualSense Edge wireless controller to improve stability.
The new firmware is now available for PS5 users to download. System updates are usually automatically downloaded to the console. You can also manually download new firmware via PS5 System Settings (Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update).
